What is laboratory fume hood

Laboratory fume hoods are crucial equipment used in experiments to exhaust harmful gases and ensure personnel safety. They are primarily employed in environments where flammable, explosive, and corrosive substances are handled. These hoods feature a split-type structure, equipped with adjustable tempered glass windows and air deflectors. Based on the exhaust method, they are classified into upper exhaust, lower exhaust, and simultaneous upper and lower exhaust types. The materials used range from all-steel, steel-wood, to PP (polypropylene) types. The ductless models are equipped with molecular filters and HEPA filters, achieving air circulation and purification through a negative pressure environment. The intelligent models feature wind speed sensors and alarm systems, allowing for automatic air volume adjustment. The core wind speed is controlled between 0.4-0.6 m/s, complying with safety standards such as NFX 15 211:2009. Some enhanced models incorporate curved air deflectors to improve the side air capture capability. The bottom workbench serves as a laboratory side table.
